Editor-in-Chief Chris Jackson joined Railway Gazette Group in 1982, and became Editor of Railway Gazette International in 2006. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport and an Associate of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers.
Metro Report International Editor Karol Zemek joined Railway Gazette Group in January 2013 focusing on the urban rail sector. He studied at the University of Cambridge, and worked for New Statesman and Chambers & Partners before joining The Economist Group in May 2008.
Consultant Editor Murray Hughes was Editor of Metro Report International's sister publication Railway Gazette International from 1991 to April 2006. He is a languages specialist, who began his railway career with Swiss Federal Railways. After working as Foreign News Editor for Modern Railways, he joined Railway Gazette Group as News Editor in 1975 and became Deputy Editor three years later. Murray is the author of the books Rail 300 and The Second Age of Rail which trace the history of high speed railway development around the world.
Contributing Editor Robert Preston studied modern languages at the University of Oxford. After a wide-ranging career including a teaching post in Paraguay, he became editorial assistant for Modern Railways and Jane's World Railways. He joined the Railway Gazette Group in 1996 as Editorial Assistant on Rail Business Intelligence, where he has served as Editor since 2000.
Head of News & Online Andrew Grantham studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He joined Railway Gazette Group in 2000 and since 2012 has been responsible for the co-ordination of news across the group's publications.
Contributing Editor Nick Kingsley joined Railway Gazette Group as News Reporter in 2006 from the market analysis group Datamonitor, where he was Online News & Features Editor for energy and utilities content, including Energy Business Review Online. Nick studied History at the University of York, after which he spent a year as a teaching assistant at a centre for children with learning difficulties in southwest France. He was named Senior Editor in 2012 and Managing Editor of Railway Gazette in 2016.
